Respite is an “indirect” service that provides relief to people who are responsible for the primary care and support of a person with a developmental disability. Respite care will ensure that persons will continue to receive services and have access to community activities. Families have the option of using a COIPSS support staff or someone they choose to provide respite support. Family-Chosen caregivers will be required to abide by the same onboarding process as COIPSS support staff. Respite Service can be planned or in emergent situations.
